Being from Wisconsin means some things are sacred: Friday night fish fries, cheese (lots of cheese), The Packers, and of course, a proper Brandy Old Fashioned. It’s not just a drink—it’s a ritual, a rite of passage, a shared language among friends and family. So when my love of mixology met my deep-rooted Wisconsin pride, the Brandy Old Fashioned Spritz was born: a nod to tradition with a bright, wine-filled twist.

This isn’t your grandpa’s Old Fashioned—well, actually, it kind of is, just with a cuter glass. We start with the sacred trinity: brandy, bitters, and muddled orange and cherry. But instead of topping with a sweet soda, we're giving it a spritz of crisp, dry Prosecco.

Serving size: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 orange slice
  • 2 amarena cherries + 1 teaspoon cherry juice
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 2 ounces brandy (We like Beren’s Old Fashioned Brandy)
  • Top with Skinny Dip Prosecco (I do about 3-4 ounces)
  • Ice

Step 1:

Muddle sugar, bitters, orange slice, and cherries. Let it sit for a few minutes.

Pro tip: if you don't have a muddler, you can use a wooden spoon.

Step 2:

Add brandy to glass.

Step 3:

Add ice & top it off with Skinny Dip Prosecco.

Step 4:

Stir to blend your ingredients.

Step 5:

Sip & enjoy!

So here’s to the old ways—and the new ways to love them. The Brandy Old Fashioned Spritz is more than a cocktail; it’s a celebration of where we come from and where we’re headed. Whether you're sipping it before a Packer game or pairing it with a charcuterie board under string lights, this drink carries the soul of Wisconsin in every sip—just with a little more flair.

Cheers,

Em
